Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 29, 2026 ⋅ Version 1.0

1. Overview & Core Privacy Commitment

At InsTranscript, we value user privacy above all else. This Privacy Policy describes how we process information when you use our web application to extract and convert audio from public Instagram video links into text.

2. Ephemeral Audio Processing (Zero Storage)

When you submit a public Instagram Reel or video URL:

  • The audio track is extracted in high-speed volatile RAM solely to perform neural speech-to-text recognition.
  • We do not permanently store raw video or audio files on disk.
  • A transient copy of the extracted audio may be briefly cached in our object storage (Cloudflare R2) solely for pipeline reliability, and is automatically deleted within 24 hours.
  • If you generate a transcript without logging in, it is available only during your current session and is automatically erased from our systems within 24 hours.
  • All temporary memory allocations are purged immediately upon delivery of the transcript.

3. Data Collected for Registered Users

If you choose to log in with your Google account:

  • Account Identity: Your email address and public Google profile name/avatar to maintain your credit balance.
  • Transcription History: The generated text transcripts and timestamps are stored securely in your dashboard so you can re-download them for free. You can delete your entire account — including all transcription history and remaining free credits — at any time via the Delete Account option in your Account area, or request removal of individual records by emailing support@ins-transcript.com.

4. Payment Processing (Merchant of Record)

Credit card transactions and payment authorizations are handled entirely by our Merchant of Record partner, Subotiz. InsTranscript does not store or process complete credit card numbers.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential session cookies only for user authentication and state management. We do not engage in cross-site behavioral tracking or sell user telemetry to data brokers.

6. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Under GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to access, export, or permanently erase your personal data. Erasure is self-service: use the Delete Account option in your Account area and deletion takes effect immediately. For access or export requests, email support@ins-transcript.com and we will respond and confirm completion by email.
